The Future - A New Children's Paddling Pool! The committee are to build a "Children's Paddling Pool" in the confines of the open air pool, this will be done by extending the existing perimeter wall on the south side of the pool and building the new paddling pool inside. Work commenced January 2008.
The new paddling pool will be 16m x 7m in size and semi circular in shape with the ends sloping from 300mm to a "beach" surround, this will cater for children up to the age of eight.
It will still be necessary for the parents to supervise their little ones, but in the extension of the building a covered way will be there for the use of parents who can sit and watch the children.
"The Children's Paddling Pool Project" will cost in the region of £120,000, much of the labour will be provided by the multi-talented "Friends" membership and other volunteers.
We also have a member of the committee looking into Solar panel heating, this would be a big saving on the gas bills.
